Timeout!
Tonight Mark and I were playing around with Hannah and taking turns tickling each other. Mark and Hannah were tickling my feet and I was laughing so hard I though I would go into labor, so I shouted "timeout!" Only, I intended for them to stop tickling me. Hannah went and sat in the timeout corner! Silly girl and oh so obedient!
32 weeks
I really should have Mark take these belly pictures first thing in the morning. By the end of the day I feel like a cow! At least I feel a little smaller in the mornings, although that's probably all in my head. Seven more weeks until we meet our new little son or daughter! Don't forget to vote on the gender...boys are winning :)

Best pancakes EVER!!
I just wanted to share this simple pancake recipe that I tried tonight. These were the best homemade pancakes I have ever made! We like to do breakfast for dinner every few weeks.
Buttermilk Pancakes:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt (I probably used 1/4 tsp)
2 T sugar
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups buttermilk (I did not have buttermilk, so the substitute is 1 T white vinegar per 1 cup milk)
1/4 cup vegetable oil
Combine first 5 ingredients; stir well. Combine eggs, buttermilk, and oil in a bowl; add to flour mixture, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour 1/4 cup batter per pancake onto hot griddle. Cook until tops are covered with bubbles and edges look cooked, then flip. Batter can be refrigerated for up to one week.
One batch was too much for the 3 of us to eat, so we'll try the leftover batter later this week. YUM!
Fun Week!
Last week was 'fun week' at Hannah's school. Tuesday was wear your favorite color day...Hannah chose purple. Wednesday was crazy hair day.

Thursday was boots day...which was no big deal for Hannah since she wears her Ugg-like boots almost everyday! And Friday was the big hit...pajama day. She was all decked out with her elephant jammies, slippers, and bed head hair :) We'll see what happens tomorrow morning when she learns that she cannot wear jammies to school again. Have fun with that, Mark!

New backsplash!!
Since it looks like our house is not going to sell before the baby comes, Mark and I are going to do a few things to the house to make it more what we want to live in. Well, what we really want is a basement and another bedroom, but that will just have to wait for the next house. I know we'll eventually move, but it may be a few years from now instead. We can definitely make things work here in this house, but it will be tight with two kiddos.

So here are a few pictures of the new travertine backsplash that Mark put up. He did a great job and I love it! I wish we had done it years ago. The best part is that it was CHEAP...about $150!! I'd love to put in granite countertops, but I don't think that makes sense since none of the houses in our neighborhood in our price range have it and we probably wouldn't get a good return on our investment.

29 weeks
Here are my latest belly pics. It's almost been four weeks since my last ones and I feel sooo much bigger now. I had a checkup at the doctor last week we scheduled my c-section for March 27th, the day after my birthday. We've got exactly 10 more weeks to go! I start seeing the doctor every 2 weeks now. This is the point in my pregnancy with Hannah where things started going down hill...rapid weight gain, high blood pressure, and extreme swelling. I'm really really hoping to avoid that this time, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Counting our Blessings
As a reminder not to lose focus on what REALLY matters, I am posting a link to my blog post from one year ago today. It's hard to believe that it has been two years already. Even though this was the hardest thing I've ever experienced, I'm a better mom because of it. Hannah is truly a blessing in every way and I am blessed that she is my daughter!

From a child's point of view
Last night Hannah and I were sitting down just chatting about stuff. I asked her some questions about the baby and her answers were so darn funny!
Me: "Hannah, what should we do if the baby is crying?"
Hannah: "Kiss it. Hug it. Give it a band aid."
Me: "What do you think the baby will eat?"
Hannah: "Chicken nuggets!"
Me: "What kind of things should we do with the baby to have fun?"
Hannah: "Watch cartoons."
**Hannah thinks cartoons are just the coolest thing, so I guess she wants to share that with her baby sister/brother. She would eat, sleep, and breathe cartoons if we let her! And to think that she wouldn't watch the TV for more than 5 minutes prior to her second birthday!
As I'm sure most of you know, Hannah is a thumbsucker. She only sucks her right thumb, so she sweetly offered to let the baby have the left one to suck on! I'm just praying I don't end up with two thumbsuckers. Although, maybe that is what has made Hannah such a great sleeper...she rarely ever wakes up at night and if she does, I'm sure she just pops that thumb in her mouth and is as happy as can be.
