Blogoversary

Yes, today is my one year blogging anniversary. Not that anyone cares. I'm just proud of myself for sticking with it for that long. If only I stuck with my chores as diligently...

Movement!

I finally felt the baby move for the first time last night! I wasn't sure at first, but then it was kick after kick after kick! I did indulge in a latte yesterday, so maybe all that caffeine got to the baby! He/she has been moving today, too. It's so exciting to feel the baby move. It seems like just yesterday that I felt Hannah move for the first time. It's such a good feeling (until I get jabbed in the ribs) and reassuring to know that everything is okay!

Don't forget to vote for the gender...the score is tied! When I first got pregnant I would have sworn up and down that this baby is a girl. Now, I'm not so sure. I'm getting boy vibes lately. We'll find out in about 5 months :)

First "Report Card"

Hannah got her very first report card this week! I'm so very proud of her and the progress she has made. She is doing well in all of the major areas including social, emotional, fine motor, listening, speaking and self-reliance skills. Her gross motor skills are good too with the exception of one thing...she cannot hop on one foot. When she got home I asked her to show me how she hops. Poor thing can't do it AT ALL! It doesn't really surprise me since she's always been on the late end of achieving gross motor skills. Mark went to a parent/teacher conference today and her teacher said that Hannah is a joy. She said she listens well, follows directions, and is always first to help clean up. If only she was as good at home as she is at school! She has been testing the limits (and our patience!) more than ever the past couple weeks.

The biggest improvement I have seen over the past 2 months is her speech and language development. I would consider her to be a 'late talker' due to all of her ear infections and hearing difficulties. At 16 months, prior to getting tubes, she only said about 5 words. Now a year later she is speaking in complete sentences much of the time.

Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you Hannah! Keep up the good work!

Hannah's BIG Girl Room!

Hannah's big girl room is pretty much done now! I think there is a little too much lavender, but I'm sure she couldn't care less. I didn't want to repaint the walls so we went with the same color scheme that she had in her nursery. I really like it and hopefully she'll like it as she gets older. She seems to really like her new bed and hasn't asked once about her toddler bed (phew!). She always waits for us to come and get her in the mornings, which is great most of the time, but I sure would like for her to understand that it is okay to get up to use the potty!

The baby's room is almost done, too! I'll post pics of that as soon as we get the toddler bed converted back to a crib.

Thanks Aunt Mandy!

Hannah's Aunt Mandy made her this super-cute pillowcase dress for fall! Hannah loved it immediately! We put it on and took a few pictures.

Thanks Mandy! We both love it :)

Applesauce...

...is what Hannah wants to name the baby. It makes me wonder what she really thinks of this baby!

Burt's Farm

For the seventh year in row, we made the trek to Burt's Farm in Dawsonville. It's the BEST pumpkin farm EVER! It rained the entire way there but stopped right as we pulled into the parking lot...perfect timing! The weather was a little chilly for mid-October in Georgia. It was about 45 degrees. Hannah really enjoyed herself this year. She asked to go back tomorrow! Here are a few pictures from our trip.

"Mom, this pumpkin is too heavy!"

This one really cracked me up (no pun intended)...Hannah sat directly on top of the long pumpkin stem. Nothing will keep her from smiling!

Oh, how I wish I knew what she was thinking!

A couple belly pics!

When I was pregnant with Hannah, I did not want ANY pictures of my expanding waistline. I literally have two pictures that show my (clothed) stomach. People told me I would regret it...and I do. So, as much as I hate having my picture taken, I asked Mark to take pictures of me each week so that we can see the progression. This is the first week that I really have anything to "show."

14 weeks, 3 days

My stomach will probably never look like that again...
